The End of Capitalism
This is final proof that capitalism
does not work very well. The Chinese have already figured this
out - that's why they are trying to implement a "Controlled
Market Economy". The Chinese know that our capitalistic society
has only worked because of the vast resources we inherited. This
is coming to an end.
Capitalism is a roller coaster created by human greed. The rich
and powerful feed on the weak, constantly testing the system and
its rules. If capitalism really works, why do we have
anti-trust, import restrictions, and consumer protection laws?
If a company defrauds or kills people with its products, why not
let capitalism naturally bring that company to its knees?
Wouldn't monopolies eventually bring on the wrath of the
consumer, thereby providing irresistible impetus for new
competitors?
As for the impending lower standard of living, what does this
mean? People won't have a television in each room? They might
not have the latest game console? They won't have a four-wheeler
for every member in the family, a huge trailer to haul them in,
and a big diesel truck to whisk it all down the highway to
another vacation funded by credit cards?
The people created a system doomed for failure, and that system
in turn created a society doomed for failure. It has always been
improper to attack capitalism, even unpatriotic, but what do you
call the latest affront to the system by the government?
Nationalism of a huge portion of the financial sector is a
blatant move towards socialism.
It's time to quit pretending and wake up to reality. It's time
for change, but the current political system will ensure that
does not happen until the entire facade collapses. You have to
look no further than the Japan debacle to see where it is
headed, but we will blindly charge ahead until there is no solid
ground upon which to walk.
Sarah Palin Shuts Diggers Up
Before Sarah Palin's speech at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday night, the two front pages on Digg held at least 6 negative stories regarding Palin. Interestingly enough, about half of them bore the "possibly inaccurate" tag.
The morning after the speech, there was not a single Palin article on Digg's front page.
Talk about a major case of "STFU"!
