RG NDT Rod Runner

The Rod Runner comprises one part of a magnetizing system for the electromagnetic inspection of the end area of oilfield tubulars.  The Rod Runner drives a lance completely through the center of the pipe and clamps it at both ends with electrical contacts so that a magnetizing current can be applied.  This current will induce a circular (transverse) magnetic field in the pipe, allowing for the detection of longitudinally oriented flaws in the tube body.
